Best Spinning Bikes In 2013

In this article I want to feature some of the best spinning bikes in 2013 because with more and more people taking up spinning (largely due to the fact that people can burn around 750 calories in one 45-minute workout), this home exercise bike is becoming increasingly popular.

All of the products featured on this page have lots of positive customer reviews online, and you will find top-of-the-range, mid-priced and budget-friendly bikes featured here, so hopefully you will find one within your price range.

M3 Plus Indoor Cycle - Best Spinning Bike On The Market

The M3 Plus Indoor Cycle is a relatively new model, but it is already considered by many to be the best spinning bike on the market, which is why it is often found in many gyms around the country.

This is a stylish top-of-the-range bicycle that not only looks amazing, but also has the performance and functionality to match, and is the perfect choice if money is no object.
According to customer reviews, it can be set up in less than 30 minutes and is extremely well-made.

It comes with a computer display (unlike some of the cheaper spinning bikes) and offers multiple gears, a magnetic resistance system, fully adjustable handlebars and seat, and a super quiet drive system for a nice, quiet workout. It also has some high-quality Shimano pedals so that your feet won't slip at all even when standing up.

Other top-rated spinning bikes in this price range:

Diamondback Fitness 510ic Indoor Cycle Trainer - High Performance Spinning Bike
You will notice that the Diamondback Fitness 510ic Indoor Cycle is approximately half the price of the M3 Plus Indoor Cycle, but looking at this particular spinning bike in more detail, it appears to be every bit as impressive.

This high performance spinning bike comes with 16 different resistance levels (controlled by computer) so that you can make your workouts as challenging (or as easy) as you like. There are also 14 different workout programs that you can use as well.

As with most spinning bikes, you can adjust the seat up, down, forwards and backwards and the handlebars are fully adjustable as well, and in addition to being very comfortable, you should find that the 32 lb flywheel provides you with a quiet and very realistic riding experience.

Livestrong Indoor Cycle (LS9.9IC-2) - Quality Spinning Bike

The Livestrong Indoor Cycle is not as expensive as some of the bikes listed above, but it is still one of the best spinning bikes you can buy in 2013.

This classy black and yellow bicycle has a large 40 lb flywheel and is designed to feel exactly like a road bike, with the Kelvar belt system delivering an ultra smooth ride.

Both the seat and the handlebars can be adjusted up and down and forwards and backwards, and there is an LCD display that indicates time, distance, calories burned and RPM.

It has a user capacity of 290 lbs and whilst a few people over 6"2 have complained that the seat is too short, most people have been more than satisfied with this particular model.

Phoenix 98623 Revolution Cycle Pro II Exercise Bike - Solid Mid-Priced Spinning Bike

If you want to buy a quality spinning bike, but don't want to spend anywhere near $1000 on one of these machines, then you might want to consider buying the Phoenix 98623 Revolution Cycle Pro II Exercise Bike.

This has all the looks of some of the top-of-the-range models, and it also has some nice features for a mid-priced model.

There is a 39.6 lb flywheel that is powered by a direct-drive resistance system, which enables you to cycle forwards or backwards (although I'm not sure why anyone would want to pedal backwards). Furthermore unlike a lot of spinning bicycles, it even has an emergency stop braking system, which is a nice added feature.

The intensity of your workout can be easily controlled with the tension knob, and you can adjust the seat forwards and backwards, but unfortunately the handlebars are not fully adjustable, which is a minor complaint that a lot of people have about this bike. Overall, though, it is a solid buy considering the price of this bike.

Horizon Fitness M4 Indoor Cycle - Another Excellent Mid-Priced Bicycle

Another good mid-priced bike that is excellent value for money is the Horizon Fitness M4 Indoor Cycle because this premium construction machine is built to last (evidenced by the 10 year warranty on the frame).

It comes with a heavy duty 42 lb flywheel and a computer that displays time, speed, distance, calories burned, etc, and is driven by a chain drive system that provides you with a very smooth ride.

The seat can be adjusted forwards and backwards and the handlebars can be adjusted upwards and downwards, so there is plenty of opportunity to find the most comfortable position.

Some people have complained that the seat isn't as comfortable as it could be, although this is a common complaint with a lot of bikes and it can be easily replaced if necessary, but overall many people seem to be very pleased with this machine because it is very strong, is quiet in operation and is backed by a 10-year warranty on the frame and a 1-year parts warranty.

Sunny Health & Fitness Pro Indoor Cycling Bike - Excellent Budget-Friendly Bike

I have already discussed the Sunny Health & Fitness Pro Indoor Cycling Bike on this blog, and the general consensus is that this is one of the top spinning bikes for those on a budget.

Not only is it nice to look at, but it also has some impressive features because it comes with an impressive 40 lb flywheel, it has a smooth chain drive mechanism to deliver a nice riding experience and a quiet workout, and it has a fully adjustable resistance mechanism so that you can vary the intensity of your workouts.

It also has a fully adjustable seat and handlebars and a heavy duty steel frame that can accommodate users up to 275 lbs.

The only thing it lacks is a computer display, but this is common with a lot of the low-cost spinning bikes because you don't really need one to perform your spinning workouts, but if this is an issue, you can always buy one fairly cheaply.

Body Champ BF700 Deluxe Indoor Cycle Trainer - Another Excellent Starter Bike

The final exercise bicycle that I want to feature on this page - the Body Champ BF700 Deluxe Indoor Cycle Trainer - is another that deserves to be considered as one of the best spinning bikes in 2013, at least for those people on a budget.

It is a little dearer than the Sunny machine listed above, but it is still one of the most budget-friendly bicycles on the market and certainly represents excellent value for money.

This ideal starter bike has a very solid frame construction and is apparently very easy easy to assemble (unlike a lot of the fitness equipment that you can buy nowadays). There is a 30 lb flywheel and the tension can be easily adjusted if required. You can also adjust the seat up and down as well as forwards or backwards to help find the best position.

The chain mechanism is slightly noisier than some other bikes, but overall you will find that the user experience has been very positive on the whole.
